Larry Roeseler and Andy McMillin to Race 2018 Parker 425
Pittsburg, CA— Safecraft racing team members Larry “LR” Roeseler and Andy McMillin will be RACING tomorrow at the Best in the Desert Parker 425, one of the oldest and most prestigious events in off-road racing. Andy McMillin will be piloting the #31 trophy truck while LR will be in the #96 trophy truck. Safecraft is a proud sponsor of both trucks. In addition, on the #96, LR has RACE Lights as a primary sponsor. Race Lights is an exciting new brand of ultra high-performance lights and a sister company to Safecraft.
In conjunction with YT Motorsports, Safecraft is providing pit support for both vehicles in the race. YT Motorsports and Safecraft have partnered to offer the top level race and pit support to select customers at the 2018 BITD and SCORE races.
At yesterday’s qualifying, Andy McMillin set a blistering pace in his new Mason Motorsports truck and got the top starting position. LR was one of the last vehicles to qualify yesterday and did a great job to get a 15th qualifying spot after over 70 vehicles had gone before him and tore up the course. Parker is notorious for developing deep ruts due to the sandy nature of the soil.
Both vehicles will be on display during Contingency and Technical Inspection until 6 pm today in the BlueWater Resort & Casino North Parking lot. Race Day is Saturday, Feb. 3 Follow the race via live satellite tracking at www.racingtrax.com for real time streaming. The 2018 Parker 425 will conclude Sunday, Feb. 4th.
About Andy McMillin
Andy McMillin is a third generation off-road racing prodigy. Andy’s passion for off-road racing began at the age of 2 when he started going to Baja to “pre-run” the race courses in the back of his dad’s Ford Bronco in a modified car seat. His racing career began at the age of 14 driving Class 1 Unlimited Buggies in the FUD series in Plaster City, CA. Andy officially drove his first SCORE Baja race in 2003, where he and his family were featured in the ‘Dust to Glory’ film. In 2006, Andy progressed to the premier Trophy Truck class and that same year became the youngest driver to win the Baja 1000 Overall title. At just 29 years old, he is tied for most Baja 1000 Overall titles in a four-wheel vehicle in the history of the sport with five (2006, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2015). Andy is also one of the few drivers in the sport who have won Baja’s Triple Crown Overall in a four-wheel vehicle: the San Felipe 250 (in his Class 1 car), Baja 500 and Baja 1000. Andy has had success in the United States races as well, having won the Parker 425, Nevada 1000, Vegas to Reno 1000 and is one of the few drivers who have won the infamous Mint 400 Overall twice. Andy has an unheard of winning percentage of 35% and podium percentage of 54%, proving his place among the greatest the sport has ever seen.
